On Saturday, February 12, 2022 after the 8:05 AM mass, the Knoxville Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting recognized Bishop Richard Stika for his unwavering support of the Scouting Program. The Committee presented Bishop Stika with the St. George Medal. The St. George Medal, which was started in 1950, is the highest honor a Diocesan Committee can award to a person who supports the mission of Scouting.

“Bishop Stika epitomizes the dedication of our clergy to the mission of Scouting. He provides an environment for us to grow the Scouting program as a part of Youth Ministry with the Knoxville Diocese. He is truly appreciated by all the Scouts and Adult Scouters within the Diocese.” said, Chris Manning, Diocesan Committee Chair.
