The generosity and kindness of Council #5207 along with their families and other community members have always exceeded expectations when supporting the various causes within our community. Because of this, we are hoping to gather support for another worthwhile endeavor.
Rob Sanders was able to accomplish the task, with the support of many others including Tom Ciaccia, of creating a new middle school lacrosse team with Catholic values at the lead. This spring will be the inaugural season of the Irish Lacrosse Club. This team will be composed of middle school young men, ages 12 - 14, and they will compete in the newly formed ETYLA (East Tennessee Youth Lacrosse Association).
As 2020 was a difficult year for many, it also made it a challenge to create a new youth organization. Player & team equipment, uniforms, lacrosse balls, entry fees for league and tournament play, insurance, and practice field rental costs are all of the expenses this team has endured. While there has been some success with fundraising, they would like to turn to the Knights and others within the community for additional support.
The Irish Lacrosse Club (ILC) is asking for any type of donation or sponsorship opportunities. In return, the ILC will regularly broadcast your support on their social media pages via Twitter and Instagram, both profiles set as: @IrishLaxTN.
One opportunity to help support this team of young men will take place on Friday, February 5th between 5 PM - 9 PM at Fanatic Brewery Co. with the Uncle Mike's Food Truck. A portion of all the sales that take place will be donated to the ILC team. They hope to have additional events like this in the future as well.
If you are able to provide monetary support, any donations can be sent via:
Venmo - Sent to: @IrishLaxTN
Checks - Made payable to Irish Lacrosse Club and mailed to: Irish Lacrosse Club, 8208 Foxall Circle, Knoxville, TN 37923
For any questions or suggestions, please reach out to Rob Sanders at 615-881-2793 or email: rpsanders77@gmail.com. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
